FAQs
1. What is safe drinking water?Usually we divide the substances contained in the water into three categories— A, pollutants that you can see or smell, such as rust, dirt, residual chlorine, etc.; B, pollutants overlooked by most people, such as heavy metal ions (e.g., lead), bacteria, spores and microbial cysts, VOC (volatile organic compounds) and carcinogens (e.g., chloroform); and C, micro minerals that are necessary for our health. Safe drinking water needs to be rid of the first two kinds of pollutants but still contain micro minerals.
2. What are the problems of barreled purified water? The biggest problem is secondary pollution. When air bubbling up during barrel changes, bacteria in those air bubbles dissolve into water and rapidly reproduce. Lacking sufficient cleaning, drinking fountains can become Petri dishes for bacteria. The shape of the barrel also makes it very difficult to be completely disinfected.
3. What determines the water quality in my household? Many factors affects the water quality in your household, such as the tap water sources, distance between water treatment plant and your home, pipeline conditions (water quality gets worse with aged pipelines), contamination level of surrounding environment (car exhaustion, industrial and agricultural pollution, etc.) and whether the plant uses water tanks and their maintenance conditions. Therefore, water quality may vary significantly even in adjacent residential quarters.
4. Is boiled water safe for drinking?Boiling only kills bacteria, but does not remove other harmful substances in water such as rust, dust, water, residual chlorine, heavy metal ions, and VOC. Also, without regular cleaning and disinfection, boiling pots can be easily infected by bacteria and cause adverse health effects in humans.
5. What harm does residual chlorine do?Water plants usually use chlorine to disinfect drinking water. Residual chlorine affects the taste of drinking water and is responsible for the ―tap water taste‖. When left for a long time, residual chlorine may combine with organic compounds in water to generate carcinogenic substances such as chloroform.
6. What does lead do to human body?Lead is one of the heavy metal ions that are most difficult to remove from water. Excessive intake of lead damages central nerve system. It especially affects children's mental development and 0 to 3-yr-old children are high-risk population for lead poisoning. China's water distribution pipelines, both the old galvanized iron pipes with higher lead content, and the PVC pipes that use lead salt as stabilizer, will led to high lead content in tap water.
7. What is hard water?Water hardness is determined by calcium and magnesium ion content in the water. Calcium and magnesium ions precipitate and form scale. The resulting build-up of scale causes trouble to daily water usage, such as clog up pipelines, reduce heating efficiency in boilers, shorten lifetime of subsequent water equipments and form stubborn dirt in cutlery ware. It also leads to sensitive skin, dry knotted hair and causing cloth to turn yellow. Yet calcium and magnesium ions are also essential minerals for human body that should be retained in drinking water. U.S., Europe and different parts of China each has different standards for water hardness. GB requires that water hardness should be less than 450ppm (mg / L).
8. Why use drinking water systems?Drinking water systems can remove the first two kinds of pollutants mentioned in Q1 with micro minerals still intact, providing people with safe, healthy and freshly filtered drinking water of good taste!
9. Is integrated disposable filter the only way to prevent secondary pollution? With our unique integrated disposable filters, filters and cartridges are replaced as a whole to prevent secondary pollution. Filter replacement takes just a few minutes and is both convenient and hygienic. While with the traditional implanted filters on current market, filter replacement is inconvenient – water supply needs to be stopped and external cartridge needs to be cleaned, and filters are exposed to secondary pollution.
